Concentration Statement
My concentration is inspired by finding who I am as an artist and as a person. I decided to explore this concept of figuring out who I am. I choose to focus more on self portraits, but I also incorporated my parents because they’re a big part of who I am and the decisions that I make.
Image 2 is a very dirty and blurry reflection of me, this symbolizes the start of my confused and vulnerable journey to find myself. Image 4 is a reflection of my mother who is a big part of me. The piece of mirror in the image represents how I’m trying to piece myself together and see who I am in the mirror and if it were to be put together, a piece of my mother would be in me. Image 7 is a distorted reflection of my father who is also apart of me in my reflection of finding myself. Image 8 and 9 are blurry reflections of my face which start to become clear, in which symbolizes how I find; who I am is becoming more visible. Image 12 is my face very clear, but still not looking up with confidence because I still have a long way to go in finding who I am and what I want to do with my future.

Concentration Statement
The central idea of my concentration is the loss of identity and trying to find oneself.
My concentration demonstrates my idea by showing distortion throughout the images. Some images for example aren't clear enough to see the full person's face representing that person's inability to know who they are as a person or where they stand in this world. For example in image 2 you only see a glimpse of the person's face and all the things around her. Those rainbows and lights in those images can be represented as personal issues going on in her life or issues around the world that effect her. Lastly in image 12 you see her full face showing that she has found herself in all the chaos going on around her.
